Bidston & St James Children's Centre
Children’s Centres are the hub for service delivery for support for children under 5 and their families. Children’s Centres form part of the Government’s agenda to improve access to health, education and social care for families thereby improving the life chances of young children.
The centres offer a wide range of activities for parents/carers and young children, but because each one has been developed to meet the needs of local families, activities vary from centre to centre. For example, you might find:
- breastfeeding support
- weaning sessions
- healthy eating advice/cookery courses
- parenting skills classes
- mum and tots sessions
Bidston and St James Children’s Centre provides most of its services from local satellite centres at Brassey Gardens, Manor Primary School (Beechwood) and Gautby Road Play and Community Facility.
